Until Monday 18 November
A1 Upper Street
There will be a series of full and directional closures on the A1 Upper Street between Highbury Corner and A501 Pentonville Road junction on the following dates. This is due to carriageway resurfacing works.
Full closures will take place between 20:00 and 06:00 each night from Monday 11 until Thursday 14 November.
A southbound closure will be in place between 08:00 on Sunday 17 and 06:00 on Monday 18 November.
Diversions will be in place for drivers, as well as some bus routes. During these closures, if you are driving or taking the bus through the area then you should consider alternative routes, check before you travel and allow more time for your journey.
Until Monday 25 November
A40 Westway
Every weekend until Monday 25 November, the A40 Westway will be closed eastbound between the Westway roundabout and Marylebone Flyover.
Works will take place from 22:00 on Fridays until 05:00 on Mondays. No works will take place outside these times and westbound traffic will not be affected.
The road will reopen on Monday 25 November to minimise disruption during the festive season, with weekend closures resuming on Friday 3 January 2025.
Signed diversion routes will be in place but local roads are expected to be extremely busy.
Use alternative routes such as the A312 The Parkway or the A406 North Circular Road for connections with the A4.

This is while works continue to complete the new road layout, as part of the Silvertown Tunnel construction.
The tunnel will remain open to northbound traffic during these times.
Due to these closures and other works in the area, on Sunday 17 November we expect roads and alternative river crossings in east and central London to be extremely busy with long delays to your journey. Queues are expected westbound on the A13 and A11 towards central London from the junctions with the A12, and on the approaches to Rotherhithe Tunnel throughout the weekend.
For journeys in central London, use Tube and rail services where possible. If you need to drive during the closures or cross the river, plan ahead, allow more time for your journey and check before you travel.
